In case you missed the first part in this series, check out The G-Spot Does Exist, Part One.
Last time in this series, I tested out the G-Spot Kit from Babeland. This time, they’ve sent me another g-spotting toy to test, the Ella dildo by Lelo.
What it is:
The Ella is a 100% silicone dildo shaped with g-spotting in mind. It is about 7″ long and a little under 1.5″ around at its widest point. Both ends can be inserted, but the hooked end is what is truly special to the Ella. The silicone is the firmest I have ever handled, making it ideal for putting pressure right where you need it.
Clean the Ella with warm water and mild soap, or sterilize it by submerging it in boiling water for three minutes, wiping it down with a 10% bleach solution, or running it through the dishwasher (top rack, no soap). I would not recommend using the Ella anally, as it lacks a flared base and could easily disappear inside the rectum. I don’t know about you, but I’d like to avoid making that trip to the emergency room.
First impressions:
The Ella is a Lelo toy, which means beautiful luxury presentation. Ella came in an outer box that matches the color of the toy, an inner box made with heavy-duty, textured paperboard of some sort, and came with a satin drawstring pouch for storage. I love Lelo!
The Ella had a very slight chemical smell when it was fresh out of the box, but after washing it with soap and warm water it
I already have the Gigi, and have not had the best experiences with it. Because the Ella’s g-spotting end is very similar to the Gigi’s, I had my doubts.
Actual use:
My first experience with the Ella started out a bit lukewarm. I just wasn’t feeling it… until suddenly the flat of the g-spotting head found just the right spot. I still can’t tell you exactly what changed. I rocked it against my g-spot, thrust it, and lifted it up for more direct pressure. It felt amazing.
When reviewing g-spotting toys, I usually find that I much prefer my Pure Wand, hands down. The Ella and the Pure Wand are both g-spotters, but they take very different approaches. The Pure Wand is intense, with its heft and rounded ends, while the Ella is more gentle with her wide, flat tip and slightly flexible neck. This helps when you’re trying to figure out whether or not you like g-spot stimulation. The Ella is also much easier for a partner to use on you because it’s more forgiving.
I really think that reading The Smart Girl’s Guide to the G-Spot has helped me get the most out of g-spotting toys. I can’t tell you exactly what I read that made it easier to make my g-spot feel awesome, but I’ll bet that it’s something about just having a better understanding of my anatomy, and having the confidence to try because gosh darn it, the g-spot does exist and I’m going to use mine to feel good.
Additionally, if you look at the Gigi and the Ella side by side, you can see that the Ella actually curves more, and has a thinner neck and longer, flatter head. Perhaps those few small differences are why I’ve had a much better experience with the Ella than with the Gigi.
The bottom line:
The Ella is a fantastic g-spotting toy that I am glad to have in my toybox. Because it is lighter and definitely more flexible than the Pure Wand, I would recommend this one more strongly to those trying to locate their g-spots. I can’t promise that just because you like the Gigi that you’ll love this toy, but I know that for me that the differences in design made all the difference for me.
I say we send a crate of Ella dildos to the scientists who did that study that concluded that the presence of a g-spot was a matter of subjective opinion. They can then do a follow-up, which would involve educating the test subjects on where the g-spot is supposed to be, and then giving them the tools they need (the Ella) to get at their g-spots. I have a feeling that they’ll have radically different findings from the first study.
Thank you, Babeland, for sending me the Ella!

I wish I liked Ella. She just didn’t do it for me. Neither did Gigi.
Do you have g-spotters that you have found do the trick? It seems like whether or not women have g-spots that they like having stimulated, no one toy works for everyone.
