As a classical musician, there’s something that draws me to Close2You’s toys. The names and many of the design elements are references to music, and the designs and colors are simultaneously playful and sleek. I requested that Eden Fantasys send the Opus for review, and was delighted when they agreed.
What it is:
The Opus by Close2You is a waterproof vibrator with an insertable portion made out of 100% silicone. It is designed for simultaneous internal and external stimulation. The flexible shaft makes a 180 turn about halfway down and makes another, smaller turn inwards close to the tip. The Opus has 8 vibration modes: three levels of constant vibration followed by five different pulse patterns. The booklet included with the Opus contains a picture that does a great job of showing the patterns:
The interface is easy to use. One button has a power symbol on it and turns the toy on and off. Another button has a simple dot on it, making it easy to find, and is used to change the vibration mode. Once the toy is turned off and then back on again, it starts out at the first vibration mode.
The lighter-colored endcap unscrews to reveal the battery compartment. The Opus takes two AAA batteries, which are included with the toy. Also included is a nifty two-compartment storage box, with a compartment for the Opus that opens from the top and an accessory drawer, which contains the batteries, a mini tube of lubricant, a toy cleaning wipe, a purple silicone cock ring, the booklet, and a dark purple velvet storage bag.
The Opus can be cleaned with mild soap and warm water, or with a 10% bleach solution wipedown. Because the Opus has plastic parts, you should not boil it or run it through the dishwasher. The included cock ring, however, can be cleaned with any of the above methods.
First impressions:
This was another one of those toys where I was stunned by how large it was once I took it out of the box. Large and heavy. I also didn’t expect that much out of it vibration-wise because of the two AAA batteries it takes. But the shape was still very intriguing. I popped some batteries in and turned it on. While I wasn’t blown away by the strength of the vibrations, my expectations for this toy were raised somewhat. I also liked how flexible the shaft was despite the firmness of the silicone, as well as the clicky tactile feedback of the buttons. I really like it when I know for sure that I’ve pressed a button, and the Opus was very nice in that respect.
I opened the accessories drawer not quite knowing what to expect. I was really very pleased to find all of the little goodies, especially the included batteries, cock ring, and storage pouch. They were all very nice touches that make me feel like Close2You actually cares about its customers.
The battery compartment is easy to open and close and nearly impossible to put back on wrong.
Actual use:
There are a handful of things that immediately bugged me about the Opus. When the insertable portion is inside of me, and the g-spotting tip is nestled where it needs to go, the external portion of the Opus is nowhere near my clit. In fact, the Opus forms a right triangle with the protruding bit of the insertable shaft and my vulva forming the right angle, and the top of the triangle somewhere up on my mons. This is great if I need the vibe to just stay there hands-free while I… roll around on the bed? I’m not sure what it’s meant to do. This was a huge letdown for me as I had hoped that this toy would hit my g-spot and my clit simultaneously.
In order to make contact with my clit, the insertable shaft needs to be almost all the way inserted, all the way past my g-spot and poking me uncomfortably somewhere around my bladder and cervix. But I soldiered on. I rocked and rocked against that external portion, which transmitted vibrations beautifully, though I found myself wishing it had just a bit of texture. I am convinced that if not for the uncomfortably deep-seated g-spotter I could have reached orgasm three times over. But I didn’t. Not once.
The three vibration speeds were nice, and used on my g-spot alone felt great. But the external portion of the Opus kept me from getting at my clit, putting this on my blacklist of Toys That Deny Me Access To My Anatomy.
The bottom line:
The Opus is a well-made vibrator that just didn’t work with my anatomy. If only the insertable portion was shorter, or the angle less acute, the Opus and I could have made beautiful music together!
Thank you, Eden Fantasys, for letting me try out the Opus!

How would you compare this to the G-Ki? And do you own the Rock Chick that you could compare it to that one? For me the Rock Chick length problems were just like what you talked about here.
What other toys can you compare the vibrations to? Are they buzzy or more resonating?
I reallllly want to like a toy by this manufacturer because……..well……ok fine, it’s because of the dang box and the goodies. I’m sorry I’m a total sucker for kits, lol.
I own neither the Rock Chick nor the G-Ki, unfortunately.
The vibrations feel a lot like Lelo’s toys, I guess just not *quite* as strong. Not high-pitched buzzing, but not deep and rumbly, either.
I would try another, less anatomy-dependent toy by this manufacturer. I kind of want the Harmonia because it looks like everything I actually liked about the Opus and none of the things I hated… plus it’s BRIGHT GREEN
